I’ve been making some storage and I’ve finally finished the first 2 sections! Bearing in mind I’ve only been cardmaking for about 5 months it probably isn’t the best storage ever made and it is wonky in places. I’m really proud of it though and as I’m making it to suit my needs it is perfect for me. It is very MSE as I made it from mountboard and card from stash. I made drawer sections from mountboard and then stuck them together. I reused some corrugated cardboard packaging and more mountboard to make an outer skin.
The drawers are for my Promarkers. I used the Letraset chart, coloured it in and mounted each portion to the front of each drawer. The drawer holds all the markers for that section of the chart and the drawers are colour coded for ease of use. The markers are in the right order in the drawer 😉
The drawers were made to measure.
The second section of storage is for my distress inks and perfect pearls. The drawers are colour coded again. I attach my blender pad to the ink pad using adhesive velcro. I also have a sponge dauber for each of them in the drawer.
This is the second storage unit.
The storage so far. I plan to make more tomorrow and play around with the layout!
I tried to give money neutral gifts when possible this year and hopefully I’ll improve on this in 2012. Here are some of my Christmas gifts. I made my mum some Pandora style jewellry (shame I forgot to take photos as I was in a rush!!). Then I made this chest of drawers box so the drawers had the necklace, bracelet and different colour beads in it.
Next is another idea which is very MSE! Last year I bought some friends Christmas Coffee from M&S which was quite expensive and the packaging was a boring bag! This year I got the same coffee but made these mug holders for it. One bag of coffee was split into 3 bags making 3 pressies from each bag!
The papers are from Cocoa latte in Craft artist. The ribbons I used were saved when I cut them out of new clothes! I added buttons (also saved from old clothes) to act as a stopper on the tags.
I made these boxes to hold 2 chocolate bars each for my youngish cousins.
I personalised them with their names. Forgot to take the photo before I tied the ribbon!
