No shrinking violet!

No shrinking violet!

Going for a Summery feel with this card with some nice bright colours to cheer the day up. I made the digital papers using Craft Artist.

The digi is another beauty from Saturated Canary coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers.

I made matching paper for the inside.

Happy memories as we look forward to Summer Holidays

Happy memories as we look forward to Summer Holidays

I’m finally getting round to blogging some of my makes from the last few months. Making cards for several of my classes plud making these gifts for my form took me a lot of time and it was pretty intense but it was really lovely to give them personalised things as they are great pupils and I’ve loved teaching and tutoring them. So these are for their Summer Holidays!

I got hold of a couple of photos of the form (I’ve blurred all the information for privacy reasons!).
I created the background for the photo using Craft Artist. I cut acetate to sit in front of the picture as the frames did not have any glass.
I took some plain wood frames and painted them with black or red pearlescent paint. I used a circles stamp with silver ink and then heat embossed with silver.

I found these cute rulers on sale in January so I glued them to the front of the frames for the lads.

The red pearlescent ink actually has a pink sheen at a certain angle!

For the frames for girls I made paper flowers using punches and added red buttons.

I’ve been very busy making lots of good luck cards. This is the first batch! I decided to go for simple monochrome. I used a Krista Smith digi in blue and made the papers with Craft artist. I used punches to make the card asymetric and for added decoration.
Here is one blue card in detail. Stereotypically the blue is for the boys!!

 This is the inside

These are the rest of the blue batch!

An example of a pink girly one!

Hi all!
I made this card for a supporter of Argyle so it is was the perfect chance to combine a male sports cards with spots and circles.

I made my papers using Craft Artist and colour matched to the Argyle logo.

I used a Lili of the Valley digi but recoloured the shirt with promarkers and did the background and football with distress inks.

This is the base when the card is opened up.

This is the back of the card.

Summer Ladybugs

I’ve been so bust crafting I haven’t had time to blog. Was determined to post one of my latest creations today so apologies that it is short and sweet!!
This is a 60th birthday card for someone who loves the coast, sailing and used to go ballooning so the Ladybugs digi from Wee stamps was perfect. As usual I coloured with Promarkers, flexmarkers and also pearlescent ink.
The edge of the card was blended with distress ink. The papers were created using Craft Artist.

I added pearls coloured to match with Promarkers.

The inside of the card…

Inspired by the sunrise.

Inspired by the sunrise.

I struggle with male cards so I needed lots of inspiration. I thought I’d use blue for the Digital Tuesday challenge and then I saw the Can You Digi It challenge and decided to team it with orange.

I used a layout from the Critter Sketch Challenge

and thought that topping the card with stiched bunting would be perfect. So here is my card

I blended distress ink around the edges of the card. I designed my paper using Craft Artist so virtually all of the elements are digital.

My image is a Lili of the Valley die cut but I added some extra clour and coloured the background.

It is difficult to see on this photo but the orange edges around the bunting are a satin stitch effect.
I decorated the inside of the card in matching clours but added the sun and buildings element.

To garden or to relax in the garden?

To garden or to relax in the garden?

This is my birthday card for a gardener. It was inspired by the photo for The Stamping Boutique challenge.

I love gardening (although it’s not much fun trying to do it in the rain at the moment. I especially like when you’ve done some gardening and you can relax and enjoy a cup of tea out there!
I inked the edges of the card with distress ink. I created the background paper using Craft Artist.

I used a Lili of the Valley die cut and coloured the background and tree with Distress Inks. I used a LOTV sentiment.

In keeping with the theme I added twine and a mini metal trowel I found.

Christmas cuties!!

Christmas cuties!!

I fancied a bit of a change so had a look for some Christmas inspiration in the challenges!
I’m a bit tired so I used a Lili of the Valley die cut.

I made the Silent Night paper on craft artist. I went for shiny papers for the layers and also for the punched snowflakes. I blinged up the snowflakes and added snowflake gems as well. I stickled the edges of the die cut for some more sparkle!!

Spring Candle Holder

Spring Candle Holder

Another make using Spring colours and flowers- this time I tried a candle holder. I have a ton of votives left from our wedding which I can reuse as gifts so I need a few different ways to present them!
I made the paper background for my Wee stamps digi using Craft Artist. The other papers are from First Edition Love Letters.

I coloured the digi with Pro and Flexmarkers with some glossy accents highlights.
I coloured the gems I put on the votive to match.

Bookie door hanger

Bookie door hanger

This matches the card I posted yesterday. I used two saturated canary digis to show the bookhead in and out (at I library I’ve decided!!). I created the background to the digis using Craft Artist.
I sanded the wooden blank edges and coloured them with distress inks and then stuck on Tim Holtz dictionary pages. I then resanded the edges and coloured them with distress ink.

I coloured the digis with Pro and flexmarkers and highlighted with pearlescent ink. I used glossy accents on the eyes and lips.

I used ribbons from clothing and buttons to attach the base card.  I punched two circles of the Tim Holtz paper and attached them together with foam pads with the writing facing inwards. I made the heart paper using Craft Artist.

 This is the other side.

I made the flowers and leaves using punches and then coloured and added gems in the centre.

It took me a long time but I love the end result.
