Relax and sparkle!

Relax and sparkle!

I tried out some new techniques using Turquoise Perfect Pearls today to make my background papers etc. I’ve finally managed to learn how to watermark images thanks to the great MSErs!

The snowflake background was stamped with Versamark cyan and then I added Perfect Pearls mixed with clear embossing powder and heated it. I dry embossed the grid onto the other papers, put ink on the raised areas and heat embossed again. Inked the central strip and edges of the circle directly and heat embossed. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and frame in the same way.

I coloured the digi with promarkers. I sponged the background with cyan ink and added Perfect Pearls. I sponged the penguin with embossing ink and used white Perfect Pearls.

Shabby Christmas

Shabby Christmas

I thought I’d try a bit of shabby chic for a male Christmas card.

I used distress ink on the outside of the card. I dry embossed the blue card with snowflakes and used distress ink to highlight them and distressed the edges with scissors. I used some snowflake and swirl paper I made on computer, added distress ink and used some ribbon coloured with distress ink.

I added distress ink to the snowflakes and to the die cut and then distressed the die cut LOTV image with scissors.

Flying in a Winter wonderland

Flying in a Winter wonderland

Used this lovely Winter fairy digi stamp for another Christmas card. I was trying to use up some scraps from previous cards in colours I don’t use so much.

I made the snowflake paper for a challenge and wanted to use it up. The light blue card was scraps. The card, image, sentiment and snowflakes are all different shapes to fit the challenges.

I coloured the Winter fairy digi with Promarkers and added some glitter using stickles. I stamped the LOTV sentiment and mounted it on a snowflake punched from scrap glittery blue card.

I made the snowflakes by punching 4 from green, rust and light blue slitter scrap paper. I also used disterss inks and a watercolour brush on white scrap paper and used that for the last snowflakes. I layered the snowflakes and added the blue embellishment from stash (kept forgetting I had them!).

I embossed the thin light blue scrap paper with snowflakes and highlighted with blue ink. I used a ribbon punch and threaded some scrap ribbon through. I added faux stitching with a Promarker and more embellishments.
