Our Creative Loops Challenge here this month is stars and/or stripes. This is my first card for the challenge using the beautiful digi called Pearls In My Hair from Day For Daisies. It is a birthday card for my lovely sister in law.
The stripe and floral papers were from the Victorian Roses by Make & Create. All the layers were matted onto pink card and the card was distressed using my Tim Holtz distress tool. I used a lovely translucent shimmery ribbon. All of these were from my extensive stash :-). I added three star gems and also some flowers from wild orchid crafts to embellish the card.
I used Craft Artist to create the top layer with the digi stamp and coloured the image using Promarkers.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges
This card was comissioned for a 40th birthday. The recipient likes Cath Kidson so I went for floral, shabby chic in spring cottage garden colours!
I used a beautiful digital stamp called flower maiden 2 by A Day For Daisies . I coloured her with Promarkers and FlexMarkers and I diligently kept a list of colours I used and put it somewhere safe! (if it ever surfaces I’ll post them!!)
I wanted to make a Winter birthday card for a change. I used a sketch from Sketch Saturday and the Sylvia Zett digi Holly. This picture gives you an idea of the sparkle and shine when it catches the light!
The papers are from Nitwits and I used a red glaze pen and Lime star pen to give them some extra zing by colouring the berries and leaves around the outside. I used Peeled paint distress ink around the edges of the card.
I designed the sentiment on Craft Artist and then highlighted the words with lime star pen. I used a ribbon from stash and coloured gems with flexmarker. I’ve taken a close up without flash. I coloured with Promarkers and flexmarkers. I also used my Sakuras over the top of the Promarkers but the effects of these show up better in the other photos with flash! I used a red glitter pen for the hair band, blue stardust for the wings, red glaze for the berries, white souffle and silver star for the snow and metallic red for the bells.
I made a single layer inside using maching elements.
Hi! I’m still very behind with my blogging- I’ve been crafting but not necessarily getting cards done. This is a girlie birthday card I’ve made. It needed to be posted so had to be quite flat.
I used a LOTV die cut as I was in a rush! I coloured the background using distress ink and also used it to edge the card. The beautiful background paper was from stash and meant I could keep my embellies simple- ribbons, a flower from stash and gem flower and butterflies coloured with my Promarker. I was in such a rush to post this that I only took one photo and forgot to show the matching decoration inside!

Another make using Spring colours and flowers- this time I tried a candle holder. I have a ton of votives left from our wedding which I can reuse as gifts so I need a few different ways to present them!
I made the paper background for my Wee stamps digi using Craft Artist. The other papers are from First Edition Love Letters.
I coloured the digi with Pro and Flexmarkers with some glossy accents highlights.
I coloured the gems I put on the votive to match.
This matches the card I posted yesterday. I used two saturated canary digis to show the bookhead in and out (at I library I’ve decided!!). I created the background to the digis using Craft Artist. I sanded the wooden blank edges and coloured them with distress inks and then stuck on Tim Holtz dictionary pages. I then resanded the edges and coloured them with distress ink.
I coloured the digis with Pro and flexmarkers and highlighted with pearlescent ink. I used glossy accents on the eyes and lips.
I used ribbons from clothing and buttons to attach the base card. I punched two circles of the Tim Holtz paper and attached them together with foam pads with the writing facing inwards. I made the heart paper using Craft Artist.
This is the other side.
I made the flowers and leaves using punches and then coloured and added gems in the centre.
It took me a long time but I love the end result. I would like to enter the following challenges
Another 21st card today and I also made some matching gifts which I’ll blog over the next few days. Inspired by Spring Colours and flowers I used my new Krista Smith Bedhead digi as my other theme was books as the recipient is a real bookie! I made the papers and frames using Craft Artist. I coloured the edges of the card with distress ink and punched the paper corners with a MS punch.
I coloured the digi with Pro and flexmarkers and highlighted with pearlescent inks. I’ve shown a couple of angels to show the pearlescent effect. Looks a bit OTT but it really just shimmers a bit as it catches the light.
I also made some paper for the inside of the card and punched the corners. I’ve smudged the message for privacy.
