Spring themed 21st card

Spring themed 21st card

This is the easel card that goes in the box I’ve already posted! I decided to use the themes of Spring colours and flowers (see inspiration photos at the end of the post)

I used a Sylvia Zet stamp and created background papers with Craft Artist.

I inked the edges of the card with distress ink. I punched the top with a Martha stewart punch. I added a heart metal charm and some gems.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and flexmarkers and highlighted with pearlescent inks.

I made the paper for the base of the card. I added a green foam stopper with lace ribbon coloured with distress ink. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The back is decorated and the message is blurred out.

Valentine

I’m getting into hearts and flowers mode with this and some other things I’m working on! I’m still using up scraps where possible. I used some hearts pattern paper at the back  and then sprayed with glimmer mists (unfortunately you can’t really see the pattern of the paper in the photo). I used a MS punch around the page for the inner paper and the corner punch for the back paper. I liked the inner paper so much I couldn’t bear to cover it up! I just added the same glimmer mists so it matched and to messy it up a bit!

I added pink roses from Wild Orchid Crafts which I painted with pearlescent ink. I also added a metal heart charm.

Engaging!

Engaging!

I’ve been playing with my new cutter- a Cougar. It is my first cutter and is amazing. The service from Dawn at Thyme Graphics is amazing as is the support and help from people on the forum.
My brother got engaged and I figure that this card will be for a new section of their lives. I kept the colours simple and then used my Cougar to get lots of texture. I’m on a new stash ban for January so I had to make do with stash I had!! However. since the Cougar is new this is my first card with complicated cutting and embossing….lots of new!!

I inked the edges of the card with Versamark dazzle to give a subtle shimmer. The background layer is a scalloped lattice cut on the Cougar. The next layer is mirror card embossed with swirls on the cougar.

I threaded silver cord through the top of a lattice and added a heart attached to a short chain and clasp.

I stamped a Forever Friends bear with a heart in silver and coloured with Promarkers. The scalloped square layers were all cut on the Cougar- pearlescent paper for stamp, silver paper and silver mesh (left over from wedding!!). I used blue staples to attach the mesh- I didn’t want the card to be too girly! The bottom layer was placed on foam pads.

The sentiment also needed to be one I already had!  I attached it with foam pads.

The inside of the card has a pearlescent paper lattice layered on silver paper. I then added a scalloped rectangle cut on the Cougar (getting lots of use!!)

Finally I used my MS corner punch on pearlescent card to write our message on.

This has taken a lot of time and effort so I’m entering as many challenges as I can!!
