Flower power

Flower power

Another Saturated Canary digi for this one. Once again I made the backing paper using Craft Artist which means I’m still shopping my stash for most of my cards!!

I coloured the digi with Promarkers, used pearlescent ink to highlight and glossy accents on the eyes, lips and wings. Lots of photos again to capture the shimmer.

I dabbed pink pearlescent ink around the edges of the card using a sponge.

Reflections

Reflections

I love trying to take photos of reflective surfaces and seeing this inspiration photo reminded me that I’d been meaning to try this as a way of putting 2 identical images on a card.

This is the card I made. Since our local pond is frozen over I tried a Winter scene for a Christmas card with frozen water reflecting. I’m not sure if I’ve captured it! I designed the card using Craft Artist, adding the Sylvia Zet Silver Fairy and inverting it to make the reflection. I coloured the image using Promarkers and then highlighted the image, water and snow using pearlescent ink.

I also used pearlescent ink dabbed round the edges of the card. I took another photo at an angle to give an idea of the effect the ink gives!

Another card to wish someone better.
A cuddly swirly pearly card!! I made the background paper using Craft Artist and added a NitWits bear.

I used pearlescent inks to paint the butterflies and add highlights to the banner. I used glossy accents on the flower and nose of the bear. I added pearls to the swirls.

I used some scraps to make the inside.

A prescription!

This is a get well card I made for a friend. He is a bit of a foodie and I knew he wasn’t keen on the hospital food so I used two Paper Shelter digis and designed the papers using Craft Artist.

I made spaghetti paper to add some texture and match the theme! He is Italian so I had to go with Italian food!!

I inked the edges of the card with black pearlescent inks. I accidentally smudged the inside of the card so I used black pearlescent ink and dabbed it all over with a piece of kitchen towel to disguise it. A rather happy accident as I may use the technique again!! I used red pearlescent ink to highlight the red sections of my image.

Sexy valentine!

Sexy valentine!

This is my valentines card for hubby!

This is my first Saturated Canary digi and I love how she turned out! I used my computer to put her on a background that lookes like a room and colour matched to the papers I was using. I coloured using Promarkers and then used some pearlescent ink to paint highlights. I took tons of pictures as she looks so different depending on the angle!

The middle heart is a circuit board covered with pearlescent ink and crackle paint and a couple of Me To You brads.

I used glitter and pearlescent ink around the edge of the card.

Learning to dance in the rain

Learning to dance in the rain

There were so  many inspirations for this picture including the person it is for and these wonderful challenge photos (challenge detail at end of post). The pictures inspired my colours, flowers and swirls!

This is my creation with some words of wisdom.

I made the backing paper using Craft Artist and printed it out. I added some stickles to the clouds, butterflys and swirls.

I added glossy accents to my rain drops I’d designed and also to the beads hanging from my banner.

I used pearl and pink pearlescent ink to paint the edges of the petals on my flowers (which are from Wild Orchid Crafts). I added some pearl accents to my swirls.

I used a MS butterfly punch and curled the wings. I placed a couple of pearls in the middle.

Light up the darkness!

Light up the darkness!

I had a go at making my first picture. Everything still from stash!

I made the background paper using Craft Artist on the computer. I used a blue rope ribbon to edge it. I used stickles to highlight the butterfly and flowers on the paper.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I used pearlescent inks to paint the edges of the petals. I also used pearlescent ink to paint the candle and flame.

In the bottom left I also used a couple of feathers and some skeleton leaves.
I used a MS punck for the butterfly. I used gems on the butterfly and glitter swirl.

A good reason to open a bottle of wine!!

A good reason to open a bottle of wine!!

Sorry I haven’t had time for crafting this week! However, storecupboard January is back on track today- everything from stash or recycled. I started by using a wine cork and various ink pads to stamp this background.

By making everything using the same ink pads I was able to coordinate easily. I also wanted the card not to be too girly so I went for greens, browns and a little red on Kraft card.

I had a little scrap of aida that has been hanging around for years so I thought it was time to use it. I randomly stamped the ink pads onto it and then sprayed it with some green pearlescent spray (made by putting small amount of pearlescent ink in water in a small mister).

I then frayed the edges. I wanted to keep the stamped images simple. I used small ink pads to ink them out using the same colours  as for the background.

I used darker colours for the areas that would be more shaded, 2 greens for the boots and red for the ladybirds. The stamps are Country Companions and were free with a mag.

I used the same inks with a sponge dauber to lightly ink the backgrounds and to give my hedgehog little rosy cheeks and chest and some brown shading.

I decorated the inside of the card using the cork with ink pads again and the papers were made with a sponge dauber.

A special sparkly birthday box!

A special sparkly birthday box!

I’ve finally done the box for the card I posted! Just to remind you I’ve taken a photo of the card in the box base!

This is the card folded down in the box base I made.

A side view of the box- I used a circle punch at each end to make it look a little more professional!

I used a single digi of a lily and then coloured it and made it into the heart frame digitally.  I added sticker corners and added pearls to them.

TIP: I added flowers from WOC and painted the edges of the petals with pearlescent ink to give them glimmer rather than glitter!

I added embossing ink to the raised surface of the purple resin embellishment and then added pink Perfect pearls. I painted the outside with perlescent purple ink.
