I tried to give money neutral gifts when possible this year and hopefully I’ll improve on this in 2012. Here are some of my Christmas gifts. I made my mum some Pandora style jewellry (shame I forgot to take photos as I was in a rush!!). Then I made this chest of drawers box so the drawers had the necklace, bracelet and different colour beads in it.
Next is another idea which is very MSE! Last year I bought some friends Christmas Coffee from M&S which was quite expensive and the packaging was a boring bag! This year I got the same coffee but made these mug holders for it. One bag of coffee was split into 3 bags making 3 pressies from each bag!
The papers are from Cocoa latte in Craft artist. The ribbons I used were saved when I cut them out of new clothes! I added buttons (also saved from old clothes) to act as a stopper on the tags.
I made these boxes to hold 2 chocolate bars each for my youngish cousins.
I personalised them with their names. Forgot to take the photo before I tied the ribbon!
Another quick post so hubby doesn’t spot any pictures!! I made this box to put his card in. I wanted it to match to a certain extent but to be something he could use all the time. This is the card in the box base. I used lots of glitter spray on the base to match on the card (although it doesn’t show well in the photo).
The card folded down in the base.
This is the top of the box. Hubby loves watches so I added my favourite embellishment- the brass clock and added a vintage clock face to the heart paper I made and had used on the card. I thought seize the moment fitted the time theme well but is general enough for the box to be useable.
A close up of the top. You can see that I used punches on the corners of my card and a MS scroll punch on the corners of the paper.
From the side you can see that I used scalloped blue paper for the box lid. I used corrugated paper from some packaging cut with scalloped scissors at the bottom around the side.
I made this box to hold a couple of Thorntons Chocolate bars as a birthday pressie (testing out the idea for Christmas!!). Sorry I don’t have time to write much tonight!!
Gorgeous LOTV stamp was coloured with Promarkers. Image then covered with embossing ink and pink Perfect Pearls applied. I added some flowers from WOC. The textured card stock sleeve was sprayed with glitter spray.
I would like to enter the following challenges Whimsy inspires- flowers Clearly iStamp- flowers
This is my first box for the birthday card I made yesterday. I’m pleased with it as I had to make up how to do it!!
I made the background paper with sentiment on the computer. I tied the bow and stuck it on the wreath. I used distress inks to colour card and the punched two butterflies. I curled the wings, layered them and added gems to the body. I added a cluster of flowers from WOC.
