Altered baking tray!

Altered baking tray!

I decided I needed more craft storage but I needed to keep it frugal. Having made storage for my Promarkers the next thing was storage for the Perfect Pearls. I bought a baking tray for a pound and everything else is from stash.

I used some plastic reinforcers with rivets from packaging and stuck them to the back of the tray. I then threaded ribbon through them to hang it up.
I made the background paper using Craft Artist and printed it onto pearlescent paper.

I added flowers and skeleton leaves to one corner of the tray.

I used punches to create this rosette with scraps of paper. I added a gem from a pin to the middle.
I coloured the edges of the tray using dabs of alcohol inks and pearlescent ink.

I cut and stuck magnets to the back of the Perfect Pearls.

I love challenge inspiration photos- these have beautiful pink flowers and I decided to use pink flowers for a splash of colour in my cards.

Just inspiration challenge- see link at end of post

So this is my card- unfortunately the colouring doesn’t show so well in my photos as I used pearlescent paper- there is much more depth to the monochrome colouring 😉 The celebrate sentiment was embossed on pink glittery paper and the corners punched with a Martha Stewart punch..
I used the Wee Suzi digi stamp and used Craft artist to design and colour the papers. I distressed the paper edges. I inked the card edges with black pearlescent ink.

I coloured the image with Promarkers.

Flower power

Another Saturated Canary digi for this one. Once again I made the backing paper using Craft Artist which means I’m still shopping my stash for most of my cards!!

I coloured the digi with Promarkers, used pearlescent ink to highlight and glossy accents on the eyes, lips and wings. Lots of photos again to capture the shimmer.

I dabbed pink pearlescent ink around the edges of the card using a sponge.

Reflections

Reflections

I love trying to take photos of reflective surfaces and seeing this inspiration photo reminded me that I’d been meaning to try this as a way of putting 2 identical images on a card.

This is the card I made. Since our local pond is frozen over I tried a Winter scene for a Christmas card with frozen water reflecting. I’m not sure if I’ve captured it! I designed the card using Craft Artist, adding the Sylvia Zet Silver Fairy and inverting it to make the reflection. I coloured the image using Promarkers and then highlighted the image, water and snow using pearlescent ink.

I also used pearlescent ink dabbed round the edges of the card. I took another photo at an angle to give an idea of the effect the ink gives!

A cuddly swirly pearly card!! I made the background paper using Craft Artist and added a NitWits bear.

I used pearlescent inks to paint the butterflies and add highlights to the banner. I used glossy accents on the flower and nose of the bear. I added pearls to the swirls.

I used some scraps to make the inside.

This is a get well card I made for a friend. He is a bit of a foodie and I knew he wasn’t keen on the hospital food so I used two Paper Shelter digis and designed the papers using Craft Artist.

I made spaghetti paper to add some texture and match the theme! He is Italian so I had to go with Italian food!!

I inked the edges of the card with black pearlescent inks. I accidentally smudged the inside of the card so I used black pearlescent ink and dabbed it all over with a piece of kitchen towel to disguise it. A rather happy accident as I may use the technique again!! I used red pearlescent ink to highlight the red sections of my image.

Sexy valentine!

Sexy valentine!

This is my valentines card for hubby!

This is my first Saturated Canary digi and I love how she turned out! I used my computer to put her on a background that lookes like a room and colour matched to the papers I was using. I coloured using Promarkers and then used some pearlescent ink to paint highlights. I took tons of pictures as she looks so different depending on the angle!

The middle heart is a circuit board covered with pearlescent ink and crackle paint and a couple of Me To You brads.

I used glitter and pearlescent ink around the edge of the card.

Valentine

I’m getting into hearts and flowers mode with this and some other things I’m working on! I’m still using up scraps where possible. I used some hearts pattern paper at the back  and then sprayed with glimmer mists (unfortunately you can’t really see the pattern of the paper in the photo). I used a MS punch around the page for the inner paper and the corner punch for the back paper. I liked the inner paper so much I couldn’t bear to cover it up! I just added the same glimmer mists so it matched and to messy it up a bit!

I added pink roses from Wild Orchid Crafts which I painted with pearlescent ink. I also added a metal heart charm.

Turning envelopes to gift bags

Turning envelopes to gift bags

Although I’ve finished my stash ban I’m trying to stay on a stash diet!! I seem to have tons of envelopes left over from our wedding and they can be made into cheap gift bags that are perfect for small light items such as jewellry. I also tend to add so much to my cards I end up having to make a box with them so I end up with spare envelopes such as this pretty pearlescent one which became the bag on the right.

I used a paisley stamp to make a random pattern. I used a MS flower punch to make the top and then added some ribbon from stash for handles.  Just to prove it is the envelope I’ve shown the back as well!

My second envelope started life as a white envelope. I used lavender and pink distress inks to give a light background colour. Iused a butterfly border stamp in pink all the way across the paper and then added a lilac circular butterfly stamp. I used a MS butterfly punch to edge the top and tied a pretty pink ribbbon (from the inside of a jumper….you know the annoying ribbons they use to hang things up in shops!). I used a MS punch to make the butterfly on a bit of spare pearlescent paper, curled the wings and added adhesive pearls.

Learning to dance in the rain

Learning to dance in the rain

There were so  many inspirations for this picture including the person it is for and these wonderful challenge photos (challenge detail at end of post). The pictures inspired my colours, flowers and swirls!

This is my creation with some words of wisdom.

I made the backing paper using Craft Artist and printed it out. I added some stickles to the clouds, butterflys and swirls.

I added glossy accents to my rain drops I’d designed and also to the beads hanging from my banner.

I used pearl and pink pearlescent ink to paint the edges of the petals on my flowers (which are from Wild Orchid Crafts). I added some pearl accents to my swirls.

I used a MS butterfly punch and curled the wings. I placed a couple of pearls in the middle.
